SINGAPORE – Fans and friends of tennis can expect a slew of exciting performances at the 2016 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global inaugural Family Day At The
Tennis.
Spectators will be treated to an exclusive performance by 17-year-old pop star, Sophie Beem who is making her Singapore debut at the Family Day At The Tennis on October 23 at the
Singapore Indoor Stadium before the first session kicks off.
First shooting to prominence on the X Factor in 2012, the 17-year-old pop star is one of Beyonce’s first signed artists to Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records, and recently opened for Beyonce internationally on the already historic Formation World Tour.
The singer/songwriter released her first EP this year and her single; “Girls Will Be Girls” made it to the charts on Radio Disney and is the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack of Bad Mom’s. Earlier this year, Sophie opened for Charlie Puth on the North American leg of his Nine Track Mind tour, performed at Jay-Z's Made In America festival and US Open Arthur Ashe Kids Day.
The rising popstar also dedicates her time as the Youth Music Ambassador for the United Nations and Microsoft, and is a music mentor for NYU’s “What Makes a Star” music business program.
Ticket holders to Session 1 can also look forward to other show-stopping performance by AfroBrazilian percussion band – SMU Samba Masala, a six member female vocal group – Forte: A Capella Aces, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles who will heat up the centre court ahead of the first match with a side-splitting hit-and-giggle performance.
