Before their first match, WTA Rising Stars Monica Puig and Zarina Diyas visited the state-of-the-art SAP Social Wall at WTA Finals Fan Fest.
Through SAP technology, the social wall is activating a large social audience to engage the fans at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals presented by SC Global.
In partnership with WTA, SAP's Social Media Wall in the Fan Zone features real-time, interactive touch screens and data, including sentiment analysis and tournament statistics. Fans can even receive a digitally autographed tennis ball from their favorite participating player through tweeting @WTAFinalsSG and a player's name (e.g. #Sharapova).
SAP's Social Media Analytics is aggregating sentiments and insights around the WTA Finals via social media. Social media conversations are displayed in energetic, eye-catching animations that evolve in real-time. Fans are encouraged to tweet and upload Instagram photos using #WTAFinals. State-of-the-art touch-screen technology utilizes vibrant graphics, animated word clouds and maps to measure positive sentiment around relevant questions, such as:
- Which players are generating the most buzz around the event?
- Which of the two tournament groups is the most popular on social media?
- Where around the world are the WTA Finals social media conversations taking place?
Fans will be able to track which areas of the world are talking about specific players and visualize what people are saying about the WTA Finals across the social web.
