Bencic, Jaksic, Diyas & Zheng Lead Votes

A week into fan voting for the WTA Rising Stars Invitational tournament, and 65,000 votes have already poured in. Find out who's in the lead!

 

A week into fan voting for the WTA Rising Stars Invitational and we have your current fruntrunners. Over 65,000 votes have already poured in from over 140 countries around the world. The four winners (two from World, two from Asia-Pacific) will play this event at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.

Belinda Bencic and Jovana Jaksic are leading the World group, while Zarina Diyas and Zheng Saisai are atop the Asia-Pacific group.

Voting ends Friday, October 3 at 11:59pm ET. The top two players who recieve the most votes from each category will be announced Thursday, October 9.

The 21 players nominated were selected using the following criteria:

Rest of World:
• Aged 23 or under at the start of WTA Finals (October 20, 1991 or later) AND
• Ranked within the Top 50 on the first Monday of the US Open (August 25), OR
• Reached a Grand Slam, Premier or International semifinal

Asia Pacific:
• Aged 23 or under at the start of WTA Finals (October 20, 1991 or later) AND
• Ranked within the Top 150 on the first Monday of the US Open, OR
• Won a match in main draw of a Premier or International and/or a finalist in WTA 125K Series

If one of the selected WTA Rising Stars is unable to attend, the Rising Star who received the next most votes will be selected. Some WTA Rising Stars were not included in the poll due to prior commitments.
