CAMBODIA QUALIFIES FUTURE STARS

The next batch of qualifiers for the 2015 WTA Future Stars Event have been set with Hour Sreypov and Ho Sreynoch of Cambodia earning their berths to Singapore.

Cambodia became the latest country to send a U14 and U16 representative to the 2015 WTA Future Stars event at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global. Ho Sreynoch (U14) and Hour Sreypov (U16) will travel to Singapore to compete with some of Asia-Pacific's best juniors.

Sreynoch, who recently celebrated her 14th birthday, is the No.1 U14 junior player in all of Cambodia and is a two-time National Junior champion in her age group. She started to play tennis when Tennis Cambodia stopped at her orphanage and she is excited to travel to and visit a new country. She admires Serena Williams because she is "strong and powerful in the way she plays." She hopes the WTA Future Stars Event will lead her on a road of representing Cambodia in International competition.

Srepov, who is 15, is ranked No.1 in Cambodia's U18 rankings. She is undefeated in the last two years of National Junior tournaments and hopes to compete in the SEA Games and Fed Cup for Cambodia one day. She admires Maria Sharapova for her great fighting abilities and looks forward to Singapore, which will be her first time outside of Cambodia.

The Future Stars program features competition for young girls across the Asia-Pacific region with a vision to promote high-level athlete development, health, fitness and empowerment of women through tennis. Eighteen markets in the Asia-Pacific were invited to take part in the 2015 WTA Future Stars program, hosting Under 14 and Under 16 qualifying events in the hopes of sending their best young players to Singapore.
