Garbiñe Muguruza entered Wimbledon with a 1-2 grass court record in 2015, but it didn't slow down the Spanaird at the lawns of Wimbledon. Muguruza upset Angelique Kerber, Carolina Wozniacki, Timea Bacsinszky and Agnieszka Radwanska before falling to Serena Williams in the the championship. Muguruza became the first Wimbledon finalist from Spain since 1996 and her run launched the 21-year-old into the World's Top 10, as well as the Top 8 in the Road to Singapore.
Muguruza earned 62% of the vote, sweeping out Belinda Bencic (17%), CoCo Vandeweghe (12%) and Madison Keys (9%) to be named June's WTA Rising Star of the Month. She joins Keys (January), Karolina Pliskova (February), Sloane Stephens (March), Elina Svitolina (April) and Daria Gavrilova (May) as fan-picked winners.
